School Readiness

Children and families enrolled in the School Readiness program receive the same comprehensive educational, health, nutrition and family support services that are provided to Head Start children and families on a sliding-fee cost based on need.

School-Readiness programs provide high-quality pre-kindergarten education for children who are 3 years old until they enter kindergarten on a sliding-fee scale. School Readiness programs support children and their families by providing services to support the health, development, and family well-being of all students. Highly qualified early educators prepare children for success in kindergarten and their futures beyond that through a curriculum that emphasizes school-readiness skills of literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills while providing parents with the tools they need to help them gain confidence in their parenting skills and assistance in navigating the complex world of available social services. With a ratio of 2 teachers for every 20 students, every child receives the level of individualized attention they need to succeed.
